At the heart of the Région Sud in France, a coalition of complementary companies (Incari Labs, L2concept, Mehari Club Cassis, and Sophia Antipolis) has formed to showcase the major advances made in automotive embedded technologies, particularly with artificial intelligence, at the VivaTech 2024.

Together, we will present our latest demonstrator there, a prototype that merges technological innovation and automotive tradition to redefine the mobility experience in the playful spirit of the French Riviera, with a focus on well-being and entertainment.

The HALF Quadricycle: Converging Advanced Technologies with Tradition

The HALF (Helpful-Affordable-Local-Fun) demonstrator, developed by by L2concept-FactoryUnit in Antibes, showcases a futuristic vehicle interior equipped with innovative technologies to enhance occupant interaction and engagement. The core of this system is an innovative steering wheel with an integrated smartphone at its center, a vertical central touchscreen on the dashboard, and a long display strip running across the dashboard to the base of the windshield.

Thanks to Incari Studio, our all-in-one HMI software development platform, every graphic animation, every function is intuitively integrated, allowing complete control over displays and equipment via a single user interface.

Bodywork and Design: EDEN – Homage to the Méhari

In collaboration with Mehari Club Cassis, the demonstrator incorporates body elements from the EDEN, the perfect 100% electric reinterpretation of the legendary Méhari, which marked French automotive history upon its launch in 1968.

To strengthen the connection with the region and add a touch of nostalgia, the front face and headlights are replaced by a dot matrix screen. This screen comes to life through embedded AI technologies, with headlights transforming into expressive eyes, changing expressions based on interactions with occupants and passersby. The quadricycle becomes a true travel companion, endearing and embodying the spirit of the region.

How Incari enables the transition to a zero-emission era

As passionate automotive enthusiasts, we eagerly anticipate the future of mobility. The "European Green Deal" has redefined this future on paper: By 2050, there should be no net emissions of greenhouse gases. The automotive industry plays a central role here and faces significant challenges in implementation.

Transitioning production to electric vehicles is just one measure; but what happens to all the existing ice (internal combustion engines) cars when comprehensive climate protection measures, such as environmental zones, significantly hinder or even make their use impossible?

To address these and many other automotive questions, industry leaders and innovators gather at Automotive Europe in Munich to exchange ideas and set the course for the years to come. We will also be there and look forward to exchanging knowledge and discovering synergies.

How Incari Studio simplifies the conversion of vehicles

For many years, Incari has been working to support the automotive industry in the challenging task of the mobility transition. With our All-in-One HMI development platform, Incari Studio, we offer a solution to make existing vehicles usable in the emission-free era.

Together with R-Fit, a specialized French company focusing on car conversions, we have demonstrated, using a Mehari Eden, what the future holds for classic automobiles. The goal: to electrify a classic vehicle, save resources, and gather valuable experience in conversion.

Together, we developed a completely new digital dashboard for the iconic Mehari Eden. All analog functions were replaced with digital ones, and a completely new dashboard was installed. As a result of this project, components over 50 years old were seamlessly integrated with modern electric drive and a digital user experience. What works for classics can also be applied to newer vehicles.

Our HMI development platform, Incari Studio, is key to a new digital instrument cluster

With Incari Studio, we offer an HMI development solution for creating digital cockpits, a crucial component of converted vehicles. Our solution enables existing vehicles to be equipped with modern software, ensuring compliance with associated regulations. In this way, we assist automotive companies in successfully addressing the challenges of mobility transition and collectively taking a step toward climate neutrality.

Let’s exchange thoughts and find synergies at Automotive Europe

We’re excited to meet and to connect with you at Automotive Europe, exchanging solutions, and jointly paving the way toward a sustainable automotive industry.

Meet Leander: Our newest AI talent shaping the future at Incari

This month at Incari, we're delighted to introduce Leander, our newest member of the AI development team. Leander's journey to Berlin and Incari is a testament to his adventurous spirit and dedication to expanding his horizons. Join us as we explore Leander's path to Incari, his role in the company, and the unique perspectives he brings to our dynamic team.

We’re excited to learn more about you. Could you share a bit about your journey to Berlin and joining Incari?

Hi, my name is Leander. I am originally from Düsseldorf in North-Rhine-Westphalia. I came to Berlin to explore the world around me and gain new perspectives by forcefully confronting myself with a completely unfamiliar situation.

Since school, I have been interested in data science and AI, participating in various machine learning competitions. The job opportunity at Incari presents the challenge of joining a state-of-the-art AI DevOps Team, where I can help harness AI to improve existing applications.

Let’s delve into your role at Incari. Which department will you integrate into, and what will your primary responsibilities be?

I am working at Incari as an Assistant AI Developer working with Jérémy and Nomesh to develop further and improve Incari Inna, an AI assistant for the Incari Development platform and its newest addition.

What aspects of working at Incari are you most enthusiastic about?

At Incari, the development team identified a use case in Incari Inna, which perfectly aligns with AI’s capabilities and most likely potential and future uses as a human support tool. It thrills me to have found a company that shares my perspective on AI instead of mindlessly assuming AI is a tool and solution to everything. Therefore, I am excited to further the reach of this perspective through our work.

To give our readers a glimpse into your personality, could you share a fact about your hobbies or personal projects that few people know about?

I have always been a great enthusiast for combat sports, throughout my lifetime I trained in traditional Japanese Juijitsu, Luta Livre, Muay Thai and BJJ. I have always found it to be the perfect mix of letting my mind loose but still necessitating the use of the mind to properly thrive in the sport. In addition, its physical aspect is an excellent counterweight to the stationary posture during coding.

As an AI research assistant, how do you perceive the future of AI in our industry?

I firmly believe that AI will be a great addition to every Industry. However, I do not think AI will replace us or take over the World. Instead, I believe AI will be a great tool to take care of tedious, repetitive, and simple intellectual tasks, acting as an assistant to mankind instead of its replacement.

Finally, what advice would you offer to individuals aspiring to enter the field of AI research?

Like the 2010s meme says, “Do it!“there is no better way to get familiar with the field of AI than identifying a project of interest and just starting with it. You will be able to pick up the maths and programming skills along the way, and the added context of already working with such a project will ease the understanding of the necessity of the underlying maths and theory.

Are you inspired to embark on a journey at Incari, just like Leander? Discover the opportunities awaiting you at Incari. Stay updated by following us on LinkedIn and explore all our open positions. Join us in shaping a future where technology and human creativity converge seamlessly.
