Watch our brand new vision film about Incari technology

Together with filmmaker Michael de Vries, we at Incari have created a brand new vision film. A movie that shows what Incari is all about: Redefining the interaction between humans and machines. Our vision is to create a European digital ecosystem that is an alternative for the whole world in the future. Now everyone can get a glimpse of what that future might look like with Incari technology.

The world is evolving into an environment where people and machines interact constantly. Real and digital realms are merging. Incari provides solutions that enable visualizations and interactions in this reality characterized by multiscreen and 3D environments. Responsible and invisible. Filmmaker Michael de Vries has now visualized our vision so that everyone can get a feeling of what a future with Incari technology looks like.

Responsible for designing the UI in the video is Nik Hill, who has previously designed the animations and UI for movies like Avengers: Age of Ultron and Guardians of the Galaxy. He worked for Territory Studios before becoming the owner of his own company, 23rdC studios.
They created a video illustrating Incari’s approach: We want to build a digital infrastructure that gives everyone sovereignty over their personal data and conserves natural resources. An infrastructure that will make the development and use of technology as easy and fair as possible.
For this purpose, we are creating a completely new digital ecosystem with five pillars: an application development platform, an operating system, hardware, a marketplace, and computer components.

Our Application Development Platform

Our platform makes complex issues easy to master, helps to develop better HMIs, allows more freedom in design and is accessible without programming knowledge. It is to become the definitive software for HMI development worldwide. In the automotive and mobility sector i.e., for cars, boats, airplanes, or bicycles as well as in other industries, i.e., in medicine or for smart home solutions.

Incari OS

With Incari OS, we are developing a Linux-based, fully mature European operating system that shapes a dynamic skin, closely embedding the vital parts of any given application, hence delivering maximum performance, safety, and energy efficiency while requiring a minimum of space.
European values, rules and standards in the digital world provide us with a design framework and a global competitive advantage that we want to leverage.

Hardware by Incari

We are planning to build our own devices, such as tablets and cellphones, in addition to helping customers develop customized hardware. The devices will run on the Incari OS and fully realize all the possibilities of digital technologies.

Our Ecosystem: Micro-transactions & decentralized architecture

The technological requirements for security, privacy and scalability call for a new micropayment system for users, services and applications. Therefore, we are building a decentralized platform according to these principles, a new marketplace for new opportunities. There is no limit to the imagination of designers, developers and service providers to easily develop new services based on Incari, to access the knowledge and work of other developers, and to roll out offerings faster to the user’s immediate environment.

Incari enables state-of-the-art interfaces in retrofitted classic cars

Incari GmbH has partnered with the renowned Strate School of Design Bangalore and the French company Design 1880 to jointly retrofit advanced human-machine interfaces (HMI) in classic cars as well as outdated but beloved road cars. “We and our partners bring together the perfect tools, the know-how, and the experience to build on the past for a better and more sustainable future,” says Osman Dumbuya, CEO of Incari.

Retrofit cars is a market on the rise, with more and more collectors and car enthusiasts looking to renew the technology inside their classic cars and vintage models to increase comfort and satisfy today‘s legal and ecological requirements. While the retrofit market today is mostly focused on electrification only, Incari provides the possibility to easily integrate new technologies into older car models for a modern user experience. However, the partnership between Incari, the Strate School of Design Bangalore, and Design 1880 is not limited to cars. Any type of vehicle, for example boats, can be retrofitted with the latest HMI and drive technology with the expertise and technology of the three partners, without losing its flair.

Modern technology blending in with the style of the past

Incari has already gained experience in equipping vintage cars with state-of-the-art HMI interfaces. A legendary (D)eLorean has been updated with Incari technology in partnership with Wunderkind Invest. The specially developed electric drive components of the iconic e-Lorean are combined with a unique HMI developed by Incari.

In a joint effort with Design 1880, a Fiat 500 has been electrified. The classic Fiat 500 is equipped with a digital display and can be easily connected to the smartphone and a special app. It features a smartphone holder adapted to the latest technological standards such as induction charging and magnetic attachment. The smartphone can be installed easily and without cables with one hand while offering a style that makes you think it was developed in the same period as the car.

A circular digital screen replaces the analog speedometer, is connected to the smartphone, and continuously provides relevant information to accompany the driving experience. The screen makes it possible to check battery consumption, for example, and can also be customized. This takes the user experience to a new level while preserving the spirit of the iconic car.

Similar projects show: Incari reduces development times up to 70 percent

Incari offers a software platform with an intuitive visual user interface to design state-of-the-art human-machine interfaces. It enables users who lack programming skills to design complex interfaces in 3D, while at the same time generating a very clean programming code. Moreover, Incari provides a common software environment for developers and designers who are already in the prototyping phase. This brings flexibility and saves time.

The software also takes a 3D-first approach. This offers entirely new possibilities in user comfort – especially in conjunction with augmented reality (AR). The Incari method promises a reduction in development times in the HMI area of up to 70 percent, as comparative projects have shown, with simultaneously lower personnel requirements and a higher-quality end-user experience.

The cockpits of the future

Customized and intuitive interfaces – but not only in cars. Incari is working on a new HMI that taps the potential of digital technologies in the aviation and shipping industries, in a move that will set new standards in cockpits and on ships’ bridges.

Customized and intuitive interfaces – but not only in cars.

The Berlin-based software company Incari is working on new Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) that tap the potential of digital technologies in the aviation and shipping industries, in a move that will set new standards in cockpits and on ships’ bridges. As with the cooperation with Piëch Automotive in the development of the digital cockpit in the Piëch GT electric sports car, the Incari method promises an efficient and cost-effective approach towards visionary HMI interfaces in other industries as well.

“Incari can be used wherever human-machine interfaces are needed,” says Osman Dumbuya, founder and CEO of Incari. “The days when the mouse was the only interface for computers are over. Touchscreens, gesture control, and voice control are a reality today. But augmented reality, remote touch, and computer-brain interfaces are just beginning. At Incari, we are providing the technology needed to unlock the potential of new technologies across many industries.”

Incari Studio enables up to a 70 percent reduction in development time

Incari breaks with the traditional methods of HMI development. Designers and developers no longer work sequentially on new technologies. Instead, they work in parallel and together in a common software environment from the very beginning. Thanks to this approach, subsequent adjustments, which are often time-consuming and cost-intensive due to non-implementability that is only discovered later in the process, are completely eliminated.

Incari’s software also takes a 3D-first approach. This offers entirely new possibilities in user comfort – especially in conjunction with augmented reality (AR). The Incari method promises a reduction in development times in the HMI area of up to 70 percent with simultaneously lower personnel requirements and a higher-quality end-user experience.

Incari Studio - Seven Seas HMI

Development of complex 3D interfaces possible without programming knowledge

Incari Studio is a software platform with an intuitive visual user interface. It enables users who lack programming skills to design complex interfaces in 3D, while at the same time generating a very clean programming code. Moreover, Incari provides a common software environment for developers and designers who are already in the prototyping phase. This brings flexibility and saves time

“Using traditional development methods, changing the design of just a single element often takes up to 14 days and involves five-figure sums. With Incari, it can be done in minutes,” Dumbuya said.

While the ease of use of cars is changing rapidly, other industries are lagging behind in the digital transformation. Incari reduces the complexity of HMI development and enables the use of state-of-the-art technologies. Thanks to these, the control of aircraft and ships also becomes easier and safer. Other application areas include the virtual representation of three-dimensional construction plans on construction sites or in medicine, for example, with the remote control of a surgical robotic arm.

“In the future, screens and displays won’t be the only user interfaces; projected, on-the-fly, customized widgets will become a reality at Incari in the next few months – rather than in 2054 as depicted in the movie Minority Report,” Dumbuya says.

Incari has research and development collaborations with the Institute for Open Communication Systems and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering, as well as the Daimler Center for Automotive IT Innovations.

Partnership with Piëch Automotive for HMI development

Incari formed a development partnership with Piëch Automotive to jointly set new standards in the development of a maximally user-friendly human-machine interface (HMI), with Incari developing the digital cockpit and the entire HMI for the Piëch GT in a record time of just six months. Now, for the first time ever, the interior of the road-ready prototype of the two-seater electric sports car, which will be launched in 2024, has been unveiled.

The development process breaks with the established methods of the traditional car manufacturers, with designers and developers not working sequentially on a new vehicle, instead of collaborating from the outset in a shared software environment. Subsequent, often time-consuming and cost-intensive modifications resulting from the discovery of non-feasibility are completely avoided. Incari’s software also takes a 3D-first approach, offering entirely new possibilities in user comfort – especially in combination with augmented reality (AR). The Incari method promises a reduction in HMI development times of up to 70 percent, with lower personnel requirements and higher quality.

The Piëch GT aims to exploit all of this potential:

“The user experience is a key factor in the success of our vehicle. From a business perspective, however, I would also like to emphasize the revolutionary character of our efficient and high-performance development concept. The partnership with Incari has enabled us to accomplish what the vast majority of manufacturers – especially the very large and established ones – have failed to achieve until now: smart, a software-based collaboration between designers and engineers at a very early stage,” says Toni Piëch, co-founder and CEO of Piëch Automotive.

Fewer personnel, faster and more flexible HMI development process

“The Piëch GT digital cockpit is impressive in every respect; it marks a new benchmark in the industry. But we are equally proud of the process. The extremely fast, lean, and efficient development of the entire HMI system has confirmed all the advantages of our software solution,” says Osman Dumbuya, founder and CEO of Incari.

“Incari Studio is revolutionizing the HMI development process in the automotive industry.”

For the HMI development of the Piëch GT, Berlin-based tech company Incari relied on its in-house solution Incari Studio. Incari Studio is a software platform with an intuitive visual user interface. It makes it possible to design complex interfaces in 3-D without programming knowledge. Incari also offers a common software environment for developers and designers as early as the prototyping phase. This creates flexibility and saves time.

“Using the conventional development methods, changing the design of just one element often takes up to 14 days and involves a five-figure sum. With Incari Studio, changes can be made in a matter of minutes,” says Dumbuya.
“Without the use of Incari Studio, a development like the HMI for the Piëch GT would have tied up about ten experts from a wide variety of fields for over twelve months. With our software, the Piëch GT project was completed by three creatives in just six months.”

Incari is developing a European operating system

Incari is developing a European operating system

Berlin start-up wants to create an alternative to Windows, iOS and Android — Incari is part of “Scale-Up Europe”, an initiative by the french President Macron

PRESS RELEASE

Incari is developing a European operating system

Berlin start-up wants to create an alternative to Windows, iOS and Android — Incari is part of “Scale-Up Europe”, an initiative by the French President Macron

Paris/Berlin (18 June 2021). Attack on the American tech giants: the Berlin-based company Incari is working on the first European operating system. The global IT landscape has been dominated by Microsoft’s and Apple’s systems for decades. European values such as data protection, data security, and property rights are not always given sufficient consideration. Incari is an entirely new development and works particularly quickly, in an energy-efficient manner, and can be operated visually and intuitively. French President Emmanuel Macron received the CEO and founder of Incari, Osman Dumbuya, at the Élysée Palace.

Macron emphasises in the manifest of the “Scale-Up Europe” initiative which he instigated: “Scale-Up Europe is a call to join forces around startups: to reinforce Europe’s sovereignty, develop the prosperity of our economies and societies, and achieve the objectives of social cohesion and climate transition that are at the heart of the European project.”

“Incari and President Macron share the idea of a strong Europe. A Europe which stands for change, for democracy, and for freedom”, says Dumbuya. “Incari will change the software landscape in Europe — both in terms of development and application. European programs, applications, and apps will have a different look and feel, as well as represent their own values.”

Incari CEO Osman Dumbuya is actively supporting the “Scale-Up Europe” initiative and has also contributed to developing recommendations for the deep tech sector. Incari’s most recent growth financing is backed by partners and investors who have come together as part of “Scale-Up Europe”.

Looking forward, we are convinced Europe can reach the next level, and have set an ambition for the continent to become home to 10 technology companies each valued at more than €100bn by 2030.

There is enormous interest in a European operating system — and not just in the Élysée Palace. A current, representative survey revealed that more than two thirds of the respondents were open to the idea of a European operating system. They would prefer to use it provided it had at least the same functionality and existing data security.

Incari is improving companies’ competitiveness

“Many ideas fail on the path to implementation because the costs, for software and licences, for example, are too high. On the one hand, this reduces willingness to innovate, while on the other hand, existing, often outdated applications linger on”, says Dumbuya.

With its software, Incari is shortening the path from idea to finished product massively. This saves on costs and speeds up the development process. By simplifying the implementation of complex requirements, Incari is ensuring innovation and entirely new applications for customers.

Existing operating systems are largely based on structures and technologies which are decades old. In contrast, Incari has been developed for the latest 3D methods. It has been designed from the ground up for visual and intuitive 3D interaction; conventional operating systems need to retrofit these functions, meaning they are significantly less powerful. Incari offers numerous functions and framework conditions which are sorely needed by medium-sized companies and start-ups to allow them to start development quickly while keeping up-front costs as low as possible.

European values are defended

Operating systems developed outside the European legal area have little to no interest in European laws. Laws on data protection, privacy, or companies’ IP are often implemented with a considerable delay or only in retrospect. Violations of the law remain without consequences, while the owners of the data lose out. Incari strives for an operating system that is committed to Europe’s values. It safeguards data security, data authenticity, and property rights.

On a technical level, pan-European projects such as the use of GALILEO data for digitising public authorities (cadastres and land registries) can benefit greatly from the 3D technology on which Incari is based. In addition to public administration, medium-sized companies, start-ups and corporations also count among the potential customers. There are also use cases in healthcare, as well as in architecture and the infotainment sector.

The European operating system being pursued shouldn’t just be used in Europe, rather its qualitative advantages and sensible handling of personal data should impress people around the world and offer an alternative.

For the establishment of its European operating system, Incari anticipates a capital requirement of several hundred million euros over the next few years. Just recently, having been led by the entrepreneur and investor Lukasz Gadowski (Team Europe), a series A round of financing was completed with a volume of 15 million euros; cooperation with other strong partners is in the pipeline.

The veteran founding team has already been able to establish a standard solution in the industry using the Vred visualisation software. Incari emerged in May 2021 from its predecessor company “CGI-Studio”, which had up to that point primarily been active in the HMI sector for the automotive industry.

The most important part is, that Incari Studio comes with a new subscription license model. Starting at 14,90 € per month. Check it out and download a 14 days trial.

What’s new?

Vector tools

Vector tools.

With Incari 2021.1 comes a range of new vector-based Objects, to create customizable graphics for your projects. One of the powerful implications of these new Objects is that it is now possible to control their Attributes using the Logic Editor, affording many more possibilities for data-driven graphics and user interaction.

The initial line-up of vector Objects is: ArcEllipseLabelLinePie, and Rectangle.

Compiled logic

Compiled Logic.

In previous versions of Incari, logic created in the Logic Editor generated code and interpreted that code at runtime. In the new version, however, that is no longer the case. Incari 2021.1 now comes with an integrated compiler. The logic gets converted into C++ code and then compiled into machine code before the user runs the project. What this means in practical terms is that there is a dramatic increase in the speed at which logic is executed, with some benchmarks showing a 120x speed increase when compared with the previous version.

Video Player.

You now have the ability to use videos directly in Incari, via the Video Objects. With this new addition, of course, comes a new set of Nodes and Events, to link your control graphics with the Logic of your application.
