Chief Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) (f/m/d)

Your Mission
With accounting being the backbone of our business, the accounting team’s mission is to maintain high-quality and compliant accounting for our German entities. Accurately accounting and reporting financial information in a timely manner in accordance with corporate policies and HGB (German GAAP) is absolutely essential for our business. As our Head of Financial Accounting, you work closely with our CFO, tax consultants, and auditors. Your conscientious work is the basis for business decisions and our growth. 

Your responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department for our German entities 
  • Make relevant booking entries
  • Support the team and your management colleagues 
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and deliver monthly financial reports and statements in a timely manner
  • Establish and optimize processes and policies across departments in anticipation of the continued growth of the company 
  • Manage the communication with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, tax advisors, and auditors 
  • Ensure compliance with all tax requirements, filing tax returns on time (VAT, CIT)
  • Manage and review the weekly payment process and monthly payroll process (together with our external payroll provider)
  • Review the reporting prepared by the service providers for our foreign subsidiaries
  • Prepare annual financial statements according to HGB (the ability to prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS is a plus)
  • Analyze existing and upcoming tax and accounting regulations and their business implications

Your qualifications

  • A degree from a university in a numerate subject (e.g. Economics or Business Administration) or comparable professional education as a tax accountant or financial accountant
  • 7+ years experience in accounting, ideally in an international environment 
  • Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) or equivalent
  • Comprehensive and proven knowledge of HGB (IFRS is a plus) 
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills 
  • Proactive in decision making 
  • Experience in preparation of consolidated reporting
  • Able to communicate and build trust at all levels of the organization 
  • Very good MS Office skills (especially Excel) 
  • Fluent in English and German, spoken and written 
  • Above-average precision and detail orientation, a strong sense of responsibility 
  • High level of commitment and motivation.

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with NetSuite

We provide the tools and technologies to make modern HMI systems a reality in the automotive industry as well as all other industries.
